To inspire and empower a community of future biological scientists dedicated to advancing life sciences for the betterment of society and the environment.
BIOSSA is devoted to building an inclusive and supportive family of students united by a shared passion for biological sciences. We aim to foster a sense of togetherness and collaboration, creating opportunities for every member to learn, grow, and contribute toward a common goal of advancing life sciences. Through shared experiences, teamwork, and community outreach, we strive to impact society and the environment positively.
The Biological Sciences Students' Association's (BIOSSA) logo includes several symbolic elements, each representing aspects related to Biology or Science in general:
1. Microscope: This is the most prominent feature, focusing on scientific research and biological studies. The microscope is a key tool in biological sciences for observing microorganisms and cellular structures, symbolising discovery and learning.
2. Green Background: This colour is often associated with life, nature, and growth, which aligns with the core subject of biological sciences, focusing on living organisms and ecosystems.
3. Tree: Positioned on the left side, the tree represents plant life, biodiversity, and the study of flora, which are integral areas in biology.
4. Rabbit: On the right, the rabbit symbolizes the animal kingdom and reflect studies related to zoology, wildlife, or animal biology.
5. Scroll/ Banner with "BIOSSA - LIFE": This highlights the name of the association and emphasizes the theme of life sciences. The scroll could represent knowledge and academic pursuit.
Each of these elements showcases the department's focus on exploring various aspects of biological sciences, including research, ecology, and understanding life.
